JUST BEGIN!

You have talent. You have innate abilities. You have heartfelt desires. Why not begin to use these wonderful attributes and abilities with which you were born?

When I consul with my clients, often I hear words like: “Yes, that is what I would like to do, but I need more training”, "But I can’t afford to use my time that way”, “But I have to do other things”, “But, my husband (or wife) wouldn’t like it”, “But, money is too short now", "It's just too late", "I'm too old".

If any one of these reasons sounds similar to something you have told yourself, remember all of those words are nothing but excuses for not beginning. My advice to you is simple: START!

Make an effort now, today. Begin with what you have. Do not put off that one highly energized thing you arrived on the earth plain to do. You came here with purpose. Tomorrow or next year will never get here. Your power is NOW.

I have a friend who needs to be writing. Her talent is lying there quite dormant and untouched. She says she has no idea what to write. I tell her BEGIN. Write about the fact that you do not know what to write. Write about writers block. Write about your feelings. Just write and you will feel the creative energy that is you start your engine, rev up and carry you away in the perfect direction!

If you know in your heart you should be working with children and have no credentials or degree in the field, volunteer! There are many organizations you could help. They are looking for someone like you. You are needed. Use what you have and your efforts will give you the energy push, the extra thrust to go further. Ideas will come.

If you are drawn to music in any way, vocal, piano, instrument: now is the moment---Sing, Play, Compose! If it is at a casual social club, if it is at your church or just in the shower, work up your courage and start. LET YOUR SPECIAL MUSIC RING!

When you take the first step, when you make the first effort, the clouds will part and the way will open! Toss fear out the window. You can do what you were meant to do. Try it!

You can be sure that when you first make changes in your life there will be plenty of people to tell you can’t. They will say that it has been tried before or it will not work. You may be told it isn’t logical or your talent is insufficient and you “don’t know the ropes”.

It certainly would not be unusual to encounter some jealousy even from close friends just because you have the bravado to try a new path.

Please do not give in or give up. The world will present as many “naysayers” as you are willing to hear. The only words or advice you need to acknowledge are the words you heart is saying. If your personal inner feeling nature says “this is the way”, then it is! NOW is your time!

You were sent here to express the Love and the Light that are you. Your soul will support your efforts. Call on you angels, your own high self, you guides. All these energetic spirits want to help. Ask them and they will be there for you. You have gifts that are uniquely yours. Believe in them and believe in yourself.

IS IT TIME TO LET GO?

Is your life humming along in the direction of your choice or just moving by default? Have those methods of forward motion that used to work for you seemed to fail? Do you feel just plain stuck?

Sometimes everything that used to make you happy suddenly rings empty or without meaning. The job that you were excited about goes stale. Your friends grow in different directions and you have little in common. Even your living space lacks energy or vibrancy.

All of these signs and symptoms of distress are very positive indicators of your inner desire for a dynamic life shift. Use this momentary stagnation as a motivator. Spirit is telling you it is time to MOVE UP!

How do you begin? It is much simpler than you might imagine. Decide today to let go of worn out ideas. Admit that you need to release the old over used concepts and methods, and ask for new Spirit-filled directions.

Step out of your Past. Just let go of what was yesterday or last year or last decade. Today is your day! Now is your time!

Help is there for you in the very moment you are open and ask for it from your own guides, your teachers and angels.

You may find that it is necessary to do a much larger “house cleaning” than you ever imagined. In addition to discarding previous ideas, you may need to let go of worn out things, worn out relationships and worn out situations.

The pots, pans, clothes and other things you have carried around for years can be recycled for others. Toss those items you intended to repair and never did. Put some newness and color in your everyday living.

If your closest relationships are not working, gently release them and begin to move in different social circles.

If your employment is no longer your joy, begin to experiment, read, listen to your inner voice until you find the work that makes the hours fly and your heart sing.

It may even be that your place in this world is not where you currently live. If that is the case, feel free to make the move! Find that new location that welcomes you.

Yes, you have the right as well as the obligation to remove anyone or anything from your life that is holding you back from achieving your full potential. When you are in sync with your own highest desires, everything comes together for you. All the pieces fit!

You have a life purpose that is too important to ignore. The temporary discomfort you may experience in releasing the familiar is a small price to pay for the gains that will evolve.

Believe in yourself and your heart’s vision. Take a risk to better your life. You are definitely worth it!

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

Your dreams are important. Your heartfelt desires deserve fulfillment. Your joyous and abundant living is your birthright. Why then do so many of us put off until tomorrow those actions or adventures that call to us so vibrantly? Why do we try to ignore the promptings of our heart and soul?

Have you ever heard someone say “I’ll try that when the children are grown”? How about “As soon as I get into shape, I’ll give that one a go”? Here is a typical one: “Maybe if I make more money”? Or “As soon as I get the promotion or a better offer”? “No, not today, maybe next year. My parents need me here.”

If you typically ignore your personal need to try something new and grow, if it has become your habit to deny yourself, decide to STOP IT. When you put off until tomorrow what your soul would have you do today, you cut off your spiritual and physical expansion. Remember that your purpose in being here on earth is for EXPERIENCE, for LEARNING!

When you allow yourself more experiences, more diversity, you are not only being a blessing to yourself, but you become a blessing to others. The broader your experiences, the more inspiration and help you can be to the other people you touch.

My dear husband Jim has been in spirit for many years. I do not think he would mind if I told you one of his experiences which he put off far too long. One of his friends had spent part of his military service in Australia. His friend always spoke of how truly wonderful the people and the country were!

My Jim was always saying “I want to visit Australia before I die.” Through the years I must have offered a dozen different dates and ways that we could go together to explore Australia.

His responses were always pretty much the same: “No, that trip isn’t quite long enough. We don’t have the money now. The weather won’t be good then. I should wait until…. But I want to visit Australia before I die.”

I became so disgusted with his putting the trip off until some unknown time that I finally just said, “If you will just tell me when you intend to die, we can get this scheduled!” Yes, it was awfully mean on my part.

By this time in my story you probably have guessed that he never did get to make his trip to Australia.

Do not do the same thing to your most cherished desires. Do not put off the fulfillment of your heart’s wishes. Start making your plan today.
